About the Authors

DSC_5455 (1).jpg

Rev. Danny and Rhoda Whitfield met at Florida A&M University, where they became college sweethearts. Through their 40-plus years of marriage, they have experienced many bumps and bruises, but they have stayed on the course of their marital journey. God birthed a new passion in them to share with other married and prospective couples. They wish to see every married couple successful in their relationship by making them aware of helpful tips to maintain their marriage.

Rev. Whitfield is presently an Administrative Pastor at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. He has a B.S. degree in Music Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership. He is a 2016 graduate of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta (Morehouse School of Religion) with a Master of Divinity degree. He retired as an educator and administrator of thirty-four years with Leon County School System. He has acquired a heart for the liberation and transformation of God’s people. Utilizing his “people” skills and training in Pastoral Care, Rev. Whitfield seeks to connect with couples, young and old, in the exploration of being “lovers for life.” It is through the process of hard work that couples can learn to communicate with each other better and allow God to be the foundation of their sacred union.

Rhoda Whitfield graduated in education and is a retired educator. She believes in order to maintain a successful marriage you have to nurture your marriage daily. From January 2014 through January 2015, she was Co-host of Women of Wisdom Marriage Empowerment. They were featured on “A Moment of Inspiration” television segment and recorded monthly telecasts on marital topics to enhance a marriage. In 2016 to 2020, she began writing a blog for an online magazine, Purpose Driven Woman entitled “Just Simply Saying”. She is a Marriage Coach with a wealth of wisdom concerning marriage. She is the author of five previously published books.

The Whitfields believe that it is essentially important for God to be at the forefront of the marriage. They further believe that married couples should follow God’s original intent for marriage so that they can receive God’s blessings upon their union. As husband and wife, we are in a covenant with Him and should take everything regarding our marriage to Him in prayer. They previously hosted a weekly radio segment, “Marriage Takes Work,” on Hallelujah 95.3 FM, that inspires couples to be strengthened through their candid transparency. They conduct retreats, workshops, and seminars upon request, which assist couples with their everyday questions and struggles.
